David Bowie's Anti-War Track, 'I'd Rather Be High (Venetian Mix),' Gets Video

ASSOCIATED PRESS

David Bowie went retro for the new music video to the Venetian mix of his "I'd Rather Be High" single. Directed by London's Tom Hingston, the clip is largely black and white with wartime scenes intercut with shots of the song's lyrics and brief moments of Bowie himself. The new visuals are in line with the political tone Bowie took with the single with lyrics: "I'd rather be high / I'd rather be flying / I'd rather be dead / Or out of my head / Than training these guns on those men in the sand." "I'd Rather Be High" is the latest single off of Bowie's March album, "The Next Day." The new mix is featured on the upcoming white vinyl 12" of the James Murphy mix "Love is Lost," due out on Dec. 16. Take a look at Bowie's new video below.
