Basic Human Rights That We Take For Granted, In 1 Infographic

Tuesday marks the UN’s Human Rights Day, which means people are taking to the streets to demand that they get the treatment, equality and opportunities that they deserve. But what exactly are those inalienable that have been promised to all humans?

The infographic below summarizes the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in easily digestible nuggets. Some that stand out include:

Everyone has the right to a religion.
No one shall be held in slavery.
We are all equal before the law.

The UN adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1945 after the atrocities of World War II ‘to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war’ and ‘to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights.’

It’s a daunting document that Zen Pencils decided to break down into this palatable infographic so that we can all be clear on the rights to which we are entitled that no one should be able to take away.
