'Scandal' Golden Globes: Kerry Washington Comes Out On Top

Kerry Washington Nabs A Golden Globe Nod

The 2014 Golden Globe nominations are in, and Kerry Washington came up big. The "Scandal" star, who plays Washington, D.C. fixer Olivia Pope, was nominated for Best Actress in a TV Drama Series. This is Washington's first first Golden Globe nomination.

Shonda Rhimes' "Scandal" has never been nominated for a Golden Globe, but lead actress Kerry Washington was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 2013. Her co-star Dan Bucatinsky won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series last year for his role as James, Cyrus Beene's husband.

Tune into the 2014 Golden Globes on Jan. 12, 2014.

"Scandal" airs Thursdays, 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
