'Revenge': Emily SHOT Before Honeymoon

SHOCK: Emily Shot On 'Revenge'

On the midseason finale of "Revenge," some of Emily's truth came out. In doing so, it almost completely derailed her elaborate plan for her honeymoon on the Grayson yacht. Victoria got proof that Emily had been following her family for years, but thought this just meant she was a gold digger.

She also found out Emily lied about the pregnancy. Daniel, who'd given up his first love because of Emily's pregnancy, was just drunk enough to make a horrible decision when he overheard this admission. Rather than Emily pretending to be shot by Victoria, Daniel actually shot her. His journey towards the dark side is clearly complete, as he simply went back down to the party and pretended he had no idea what was going on when the panic started after Emily fell overboard.

As the plan was for Victoria to take the fall, that's probably what will still happen. Showrunner Sunil Nayer all but confirmed it, telling E! Online that Daniel won't be the primary suspect in Emily's shooting, but it will still torture him. "There's a regret that will come from it initially but then it will grow into a kind of strength, a kind of hardening in Daniel Grayson, because the person he kind of trusted the most has really upended the nature of that trust," she said. "So I think it's going to be a great journey we're going to put him on."

The promo for the second half of the season confirmed that Emily was alive -- her dress washed up on the beach -- but she'll be suffering from amnesia. Emily Van Camp promises that the soapy plot device won't be as cliche as it sounds. She told Entertainment Weekly, "[Emily]’s so lost, she’s so confused, she’s so vulnerable. It’s a whole different side we’ve never seen. ... Obviously, it’s also very beneficial for Daniel that I don’t remember what happened. It’s very interesting to see how the Graysons take advantage of that.”

"Revenge" is back on Sunday, January 5 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
