'Clueless' Stars Talk Brittany Murphy: 'She Had That Spark'

'Clueless' Stars Remember Brittany Murphy

Nearly four years have passed since Brittany Murphy died and her role as Tai Frasier in "Clueless" is still iconic to cult fans.

Murphy's "Clueless" cast mates chatted with Vulture about the party scene in the 1995 flick recently and the late actress, of course, was mentioned. In that scene, Murphy's character Tai gets a "Supermodel" makeover from Cher (Alicia Silverstone) and Dionne (Stacey Dash) and goes to a party in The Valley. There, she gets hit in the head with a clog, flirts with Elton (Jeremy Sisto) and does a perfect "Rollin' with the Homies" move.

"I love when Brittany Murphy does her little 'rolling with the homies' [hand gesture]," Silverstone told Vulture. "It’s so sweet. She was so special for that role and just adorable and lovely and brilliant. It’s so weird to think she’s not around anymore. It seems very abstract."

"She had that spark, you know what I mean?" Donald Faison, who played Dionne's boyfriend, Murray, added. "I honestly believe that’s why everybody remembers the song because one, she’s so cute when she sings it. Two, you didn’t expect that voice to come out of that girl when she sang. So when she does that line, it’s like, 'Holy cow, she can sing?'"

When the "Clueless" cast reunited last year for the cover of Entertainment Weekly, they talked about the memory of Murphy and how her laugh was contagious.

"So, so, so genuinely sweet," actor Justin Walker, who played heartthrob Christian, told "Good Morning America." "For a week, I couldn't believe [her death] was real."

Murphy died in 2009 of multiple drug intoxication, pneumonia and severe anemia. She was just 32 years old. Her death made headlines just last month when her father claimed recent lab results showed his daughter may have been poisoned.
