It was one of the most anticipated roles in television, and Cristin Milioti had no idea. The actress admitted on "Late Show" that she took the role of the titular "mother" without having seen a single episode of "How I Met Your Mother." Instead, she binge-watched the entire series this past September.
"I ended the last episode and I was like ... OH MY GOD! What have I done?" Milioti said. "I had no idea what the build-up was!" As for the reaction to her on the show -- we think she's great! -- Milioti said she's stayed away from the Internet. "That's only for cat videos," she said.
See, she's adorable off the show, too! In fact, the "mother" episodes have been the strongest so far in this final season, so here's hoping there's a lot more Milioti when "HIMYM" returns to CBS on January 13.
In the meantime, Cristin Milioti can be seen opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street," in theaters Christmas day. "Late Show with David Letterman" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EST on CBS.
