David Vitter: It's 'Obvious' Bobby Jindal Will Run For President

Even though the 2016 elections are still more than two years away, Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) believes it's already "very obvious" that Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) will be running for president.

"I do think he'll run. I think he's been running, and I think he'll be a meaningful and significant candidate," Vitter said during an interview on C-SPAN's "Newsmakers" that aired Sunday.

When the host followed up and asked if he believed Jindal wanted to be president, Vitter replied, "Oh yeah. I think that's very obvious to everybody who's paying attention."

Vitter, however, refused to endorse Jindal quite yet, saying he hasn't thought that far ahead.

Jindal has attracted national attention in recent days for standing behind Phil Robertson, the star of A&E's "Duck Dynasty," who was suspended from the show after making controversial remarks about gays and African Americans.

Several conservative figures have come to Robertson's defense, including fellow reality TV star Sarah Palin.

"Phil Robertson and his family are great citizens of the State of Louisiana," Jindal said last week in a statement. "The politically correct crowd is tolerant of all viewpoints, except those they disagree with."
