What are some lesser known symptoms of dehydration? Celebrity fitness trainer Joel Harper had some surprising facts to share with us.
According to Joel, 85% of headaches are actually caused by dehydration. When there is not enough water in the muscles of our bodies, tension results. Spine muscles, for example, can get very tight, causing the neck to tense up and cause a headache.
Joel also recommends drinking enough electrolytes. "Coconut water is a great source of hydration and electrolytes," he said, though he warns us to stay away from the flavored varieties, which often contain lots of sugar.
