Before a duel it was customary for combatants to agree upon rules and weapons. At the outset of the Orange Bowl it seemed that Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd and Ohio State quartetrback Braxton Miller had settled upon rushing touchdowns as the weapon of choice. The dual-threat signal callers traded astonishing early scores as No. 7 Ohio State and No. 13 Clemson got started in Miami on Friday night.

Boyd didn't waste much time in getting Clemson on the scoreboard. The standout senior quarterback flashed his Sunday speed during a 48-yard touchdown gallop on the Tigers' sixth offensive play of the game.
