Mexican actress Alma Muriel, known for her roles in dozens of soap operas, is dead at the age of 62.
The star’s body was found in her Playa del Carmen home on Sunday, according the Univision. Preliminary reports say the actress died of a heart attack.
Muriel worked in television, theater and cinema throughout her career. Her work in Mexican television includes "Nunca Te Olvidaré," "Destilando Amor" and "Amar Sin Límites," among others.
Theatrical producer Alejandro Medina, who worked with Muriel in “Para ti.. Sor Juana” in 2009, confirmed the news.
“It’s a very painful situation, but Alma is dead,” Medina said, according to People En Español. “All of the family is already in Cancun.”
