Sundance's 'The Red Road' Gets February 27 Premiere Date

'The Red Road' Is Premiering This February, And It Looks Awesome

Jason Momoa towered over his dragon bride on "Game of Thrones," and he's set to make another big impact with Sundance Channel's "The Red Road."

The new series is set to premiere February 27. Momoa stars opposite Martin Henderson, who portrays a sheriff trying to keep it together after a cover-up involving his wife (Julianne Nicholson). He winds up partnering with Momoa's Phillip Kopus, a member of the unrecognized Ramapo Mountain tribe.

Set on the border between New York and New Jersey, the latest trailer for "The Red Road" promises interracial tension, drama, action and danger.

And can we just say that Momoa is easily one of the most intimidating people to ever grace the screen? Sundance Channel made a strong statement in 2013 with their original series "Top of the Lake" and "Rectify." It looks like they may have another critical hit on their hands with this one.

"The Red Road" premieres on Thursday, February 27 at 9 p.m. EST on Sundance.
