This has been a heavy season for “Law and Order: SVU,” and that’s really saying something for a show that, after 15 seasons, still has fans hooked with palms sweating.
The Save Benson Saga began in last fall’s season premiere when Olivia Benson, aka everyone’s ultimate TV detective crush (you know it’s true), was kidnapped and tortured by rapist Billy Lewis. On top of that, Rollins has had a pretty difficult season as well, as the mid-season finale proved when she started gambling again.
This week “SVU” returns with episode 10, “Psycho Therapist,” for the trial of Billy Lewis where Olivia takes the stand to face her attacker. With all of the excruciatingly intense drama building up over Season 15, you may need a refresher on what happened and why the new episode will likely go down in “SVU” history. Let’s recount the heinous crimes. DUN DUN. (We are of the “DUN DUN” party. Sorry, Dick Wolf.)
This is the hell Lewis put Olivia through.
But then Olivia got her payback.
A lot of payback.
But in her time of suffering, she recalled what the love of her life (read: Elliot Stabler) would do to Lewis.
Worse than having to relive her attack in court, in the new episode Lewis will represent himself.
What's more, the episode promo video shows Lewis pulling a gun on Olivia, again.
How can all this drama get even better? If Elliot made an appearance ...
… so this can happen.
Okay, just kidding, we’ll settle for this.
Also, remember how Rollins starting gambling again at the end of episode 9?
Will Cragen take her badge this time?
We love Rollins, but seriously we’re stressing over Olivia right now.
"Law & Order: SVU" returns on NBC Jan. 8 at 9:00 p.m. EST.
