"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" took home the award for Best Comedy Series this evening at the 71st Golden Globe Awards.

The freshman series (which has only been on for half a season) beat out other nominees in the Comedy category: "The Big Bang Theory," "Parks and Recreation," "Modern Family," and last year's winner, "Girls."

This was the second surprise win for the series during the telecast, following a win for Andy Samberg for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.

Aside from "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," some of the other TV winners for the night were "Breaking Bad" for Best Drama Series, Bryan Cranston for Best Actor in a Drama, Robin Wright for Best Actress ("House of Cards") and Amy Poehler for "Parks and Recreation."

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the 71st annual Golden Globes, which were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif on Jan. 12.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" airs Tuesdays on Fox.
