Sundance Channel Renews 'The Returned' For A Second Season

Renewed

"The Returned" will return.

Sundance Channel has renewed the spooky (and critically acclaimed) French series for a second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"We were delighted with the overwhelming critical and fan response to the series, and we expect that season two will continue to seduce and chill audiences," said Sarah Barnett, president and GM at Sundance Channel.

The supernatural series takes place in a small French town where some residents of the town mysteriously show up one day attempting to continue their daily lives, not knowing that they have actually been dead for years.

Deadline reports that the second season is about to go into production, with a U.S. premiere date late in 2014.

Sundance Channel also renewed "The Writers' Room," which will delve into the writing process behind "House of Cards," "Sons of Anarchy," "The Good Wife" and other popular series.
