'The Big Bang Theory' Books 'Star Wars' Alums James Earl Jones, Carrie Fisher

Carrie Fisher and James Earl Jones Are Headed To 'Big Bang'

"The Big Bang Theory" has had no shortage of great guest stars in its seven seasons on the air, and plenty of them have ticked off important checkboxes in geek culture.

But now they've nabbed two new guest stars who are sure to throw at least half of the cast into shock. That's because both James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher will be playing themselves.

Fisher, of course, portrayed Princess Leia in the original "Star Wars" films, while Jones will always be the voice of Darth Vader. TVLine reports that executive producers Bill Prady and Steve Molaro spoke about it on the red carpet, confirming that both actors would portray themselves and would cross paths with Sheldon.

With new "Star Wars" films on the horizon, they couldn't have picked a better time to appear on television's number one comedy. "The Big Bang Theory" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
