Betty McAleenan, 94, Reunited With Class Ring Her Husband Took To Battle In WWII (VIDEO)

WATCH: Widow's Emotional Reunion With High School Class Ring 70 Years Later

When Betty McAleenan, 94, was reunited with her lost high school class ring on Sunday, she got more than a piece of jewelry. She got back a piece of her husband, whom she lost in World War II.

McAleenan, who lives in Wyoming, gave the ring to her husband to keep as a memento during his service, according to WDAF-TV, the Kansas City Fox affiliate.

The trinket accompanied McAleenan's husband, a WWII bomber gunner, on 38 air missions, according to KTLA. But in 1944, his plane was shot down over the South Pacific.

It took 70 years for the ring to finally be back in McAleenan's possession.
