Rand Paul Officially Ruins Snapchat Forever

Well, It's All Over For Snapchat Now

How do you know when an app is no longer the absolute coolest thing and should be mercilessly shunned by the Youngs forever? When it is lousy with Tea Party congresspeople, that is when.

Today that app is Snapchat, which has been ruined by the news that Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is going to use it. Paul announced this on Facebook, naturally. (Adding to the many layers of un-cool-ness in this terrible story, the news was first reported by Politico typing wraith Mike Allen.)

Paul's Snapchat handle will be SenatorRandPaul for some reason, instead of TeaPartyLvr, which is still available, you guys.

Hey, let's all try to guess the subject of his first Snapchat photo! Will it be his scandalously luxurious hair? His collection of red neckties? Stills from the movie "Gattaca?"

We're hoping that Paul isn't planning to use Snapchat to send salacious photos to anyone. As we all know, even though the whole point of Snapchat is to send photos that self-destruct and leave no trace of your junk on the Interwebs, it's not foolproof. People can take screenshots of your photos, and there is an app that lets you save photos from Snapchat without the sender knowing.

Anyway, Paul's not the only Tea Partier trying to demonstrate hep-catness with the Snapchats. National staring-contest champion Michele Bachmann discussed her own love of Snapchat at Wednesday's Conversations With Conservatives event.

Delete your app now or forever be uncool. You have been warned.
