For years, Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom were thought to be a happy couple with a functional marriage who were facing fertility issues together. As it turns out, Kardashian purposely avoided getting pregnant because of the serious problems Odom was facing.
On Thursday (Jan. 23), Khloe's older sister Kim appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," and while discussing the various separations and divorces her family members are going through, she told the show's host, "For so long everyone in our family was feeling so sad for Khloe, thinking that she wasn't getting pregnant and everyone around her was. And the whole time she wasn't trying [to get pregnant]."
Kim continued, "She wasn't showing up to these doctor appointments behind our backs on purpose, and she just knew it wasn't right [to get pregnant at that time]."
Khloe filed for divorce from Odom on Dec. 13, 2013 following months of reports of cheating, alleged drug abuse and a DUI arrest.
Khloe had spoken about her supposed fertility issues in the past. Her trouble conceiving was a storyline on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," and became a point of contention among her sisters when she refused to even meet with an adoption attorney.
UPDATE: Kim Kardashian clarified the comments she made on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in an extended tweet on Friday:
"I'm so tired of people twisting my words, Khloe did start fertility and she wanted to have a baby, but I believe in the middle of the process she realized timing wasn't good based on what was going on with her relationship. She was not ready to tell us everything so she stopped treatment without telling us. "
