Old Man Marley's House From 'Home Alone' Is For Sale

Who'd have ever known that "Old Man" Marley was so well off? (He did send a check to his granddaughter every Christmas, we s'pose.)

This week, the seven-bedroom, six-bathroom Winnetka, Ill. home featured as the place next door to the McCallisters in John Hughes' iconic 1990 film "Home Alone" hit the market. And the home of Marley, the the film's sidewalk salting advocate, rumored "South Bend Shovel Slayer" and eventual hero, can be yours for a cool $3.1 million. (Read below for a peek inside.)

The Benajmin Marshall-designed 6,863-square-foot home, built in 1899, is much less foreboding in daylight than it seemed in the Hughes movie and even features an in-ground pool, a hot tub and even what looks to be a small putting green on its spacious lot. Indoors, it boasts a billiards room, an attractive kitchen and a basement gym no one should fear. It has been listed with Coldwell Banker.

The home of Kevin and co. next door sold for $1.585 million after nearly a year on the market in 2012.

Robert Blossom, the actor who played Mr. Marley, died in 2011, the Los Angeles Times notes.
