Hockey Fight In RPI-Union Mayor's Cup Rivalry Matchup Includes Angry, Restrained Coaches (VIDEO)

WATCH: Coaches Get Involved In Massive Hockey Brawl

A major college hockey upset was overshadowed by a massive college hockey brawl. After unranked Rensselaer knocked off No. 3 Union 2-1 in the second annual Mayor's Cup game at the Times Union Center in Albany on Saturday, a fight broke out between the rival teams.

The fracas began as time expired with RPI players skating onto the ice to celebrate their upset win over a regional rival. Amid the confusion, Union coach Rick Bennett went for RPI coach Seth Appert.

"This was an embarrassment for both schools," wrote Ken Schott of The Daily Gazette. "Both coaches profusely apologized in their respective postgame press conferences. They apologized to everyone under the sun. And I do believe they were very sincere."
