Pro Athlete Swallowed By HUGE Wave Is Why We Don't Surf (VIDEO)

WATCH: This Is Why We Don't Surf

There's no shortage of terrifying things in the ocean. If it wasn't on your list already, it's time to add "getting tossed by big waves."

As evidence, take a gander at this footage captured by a GoPro camera strapped to a surfboard at the 2014 Mavericks Invitational last Friday off the coast of San Francisco, Calif. The camera records a terrifying tumble from the perspective of Mark Healey, a Hawaiian big wave surfer, who found himself wrapped up in a 25-foot wave.

Fortunately, Healey -- unlike his fellow competitor Alex Martins -- apparently escaped any serious injury, calmly tweeting afterward, "Well, that was a rough way to start a heat."

No kidding, brah. Although given that Healey has also stiff-armed an oncoming tiger shark, his passing off the wave as no big deal is understandable.
