Elizabeth Warren's Fundraising Prowess Draws Praise From Former Romney Adviser

Former Romney Adviser Praises Elizabeth Warren's Fundraising Prowess

She's only in her second year in office, but Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is already making waves with her prolific fundraising for others.

The Boston Globe reported Tuesday that Warren's aides say she has raised $1.1 million for Democratic Party colleagues and another $1 million for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Those numbers sparked praise from the other side of the partisan aisle.

“There are very few freshman members . . . who can raise that kind of money in a relatively short period of time,” Ron Kaufman, a Republican donor for former presidential candidate Mitt Romney and Senator Scott Brown (R-Mass.), told the Globe.

Among the colleagues Warren is helping most is Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), who gained $139,000 from Warren's efforts. Speculation has mounted that Brown could run against Shaheen, but he has yet to decide whether he'll challenge her.

As of Monday, HuffPost Pollster's compilation of seven publicly available polls showed that if Brown were to enter the fray, Shaheen holds a six-point edge.
