Channing Tatum Writes 'Magic Mike 2' With Some Help From Matthew McConaughey

Channing Tatum Gets Inspired For 'Magic Mike 2'

Channing Tatum is getting to work on "Magic Mike 2," the upcoming sequel to the hit 2012 movie in which he starred as a male stripper with a heart of gold. Tatum is writing the script with his producing partner Reid Carolin, and also eyeing a chance at directing the film.

The new father took to Instagram this week to offer a peek into his writing process. Tatum posted a photo of himself looking serious in a feather-adorned hat with a pen in his mouth. He is joined in the photo by a bust of his "Magic Mike" co-star, Matthew McConaughey.

Tatum referenced McConaughey's "Magic Mike" character Dallas in the caption to the photo, writing, "What better way to start writing #MagicMike2 than with my old friend Dallas? #runatribe"
