Chris Hays, San Diego Police Officer, Accused Of Sexual Misconduct, Improper Pat Downs

A police officer in San Diego is accused of sexual misconduct, including improper pat downs.

Seven women have come forward to report instances of inappropriate touching by officer Chris Hays, 10 News reports.

Authorities arrested Hayes, 30, on Feb. 9 on "suspicion of sexual battery and false imprisonment of women while on duty," according to the Los Angeles Times.

Attorney Brian Watkins, who represents one of the accusers, says that Hays offered to give his client a ride home.

According to Watkins, Hays told the woman he had to frisk her as part of his job and led her to a secluded area.

“His frisking her basically involved him touching both of her breasts with both of his hands. He then caressed her crotch, caressed her buttocks and then grabbed her wrist and put her hand on his crotch,” Watkins said.

Hays was released on $130,000 bail. Through a statement from his attorney, he has denied the allegations against him.
