LOOK: Bruised And Bloody 'Sochie Selfie' Shows Painful Side Of Olympics

The pictures being shared on social by media by Olympians at the 2014 Winter Games have tended toward the comic and joyful. There have been countless smiling #SochiSelfies, one too many suggestive photos featuring the Olympic flame and plenty of #SochieProblems.

British skier Rowan Cheshire showed another side -- a more painful one -- of the competition with a close-up image of her bruised and bloodied face.

The 18-year-old fell hard during a halfpipe training run on Sunday and was reportedly knocked unconscious. The official Twitter account of British Ski & Snowboard later announced that she suffered a concussion. She stayed at a local hospital overnight as a precaution.

On Monday she gave her followers on Twitter a glimpse of her battered face.

The next picture that Cheshire shared via Twitter was much more pleasant. Rather than providing another close-up of her injuries, she let her followers peek at the get well gifts she had been receiving.

At least two of those friends referenced in the tweet visited Cheshire on Monday and she seemed in good spirits, all things considered.
