'House Of Cards' Is Essentially 'Power Porn,' According To Howard Fineman

For some people, "House of Cards" is entertaining binge candy, and for others, it's power porn.

Howard Fineman, editorial director of the Huffington Post Media Group, joined HuffPost Live to discuss "House of Cards" and its relation to the real life White House. Fineman pointed out how unrealistic the scandal and action-filled Netflix series is as compared to our current stagnant government.

"We're in an interesting moment in Washington where nothing's happening," Fineman said, ultimately calling it "a period of generalized powerlessness." Thus, "House of Cards," a show in which the malicious Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) controls the corrupt inner workings of Congress and the White House is what Fineman calls "power porn."
