Playing in his first Super Bowl ever, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson realized that halftime of the big game is much longer than any other game. That's why, with a 22-0 lead over the Denver Broncos at the break, the second-year player decided to take a shower.
"Well the halftime is so long. Normally halftime in a pro game is 10, 15 minutes. For the Super Bowl, you got Bruno Mars performing and playing on the drums. It's normally 15 minutes but for the Super Bowl it's 45, almost to an hour," Wilson said when asked about the shower on HuffPost Live on Wednesday. "So that's why I took a shower. Just kind of got re-taped and re-started my mind."
Wilson's strategy seemed to be a smart one. He ended up throwing two touchdown passes in the second half as the Seahawks went on to blow out the Broncos 43-8.
During his visit to HuffPost Live, the 25-year-old also talked about openly gay NFL prospect Michael Sam, calling the former All-American defensive lineman out of Missouri "courageous."
