Denis Leary wrapped up his firefighter drama Rescue Me in 2011, and now the comedian and actor is trying his hand at writing and producing with Sirens, a new USA sitcom about three EMTs in Chicago.
Leary, 56, is also starring at Capt. George Stacey in The Amazing Spider-Man films (the second installment comes out this summer), and he also voices the saber-toothed cat Diego in the Ice Age series (a fifth Ice Age movie will come out in 2016). What’s more, he’s working on a comedy pilot for FX called Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, in which he would play a middle-aged rocker who never made it big.
Leary spoke to Parade about why he loves cable comedies, his surprising dream career, and the secret to his 25-year marriage.
