"Let it Go" has won the Oscar for Best Original Song at the the 86th annual Academy Awards, beating out "Happy" from "Despicable Me 2," "The Moon Song" from "Her" and "Ordinary Love" from "Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom."
A fifth song, "Alone Yet Not Alone," from the eponymous film was also originally nominated for the award, but was disqualified because its composer, Bruce Broughton, violated the Academy's anti-campaigning rules.
The tune was written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez for the animated film "Frozen," which won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film.
"Let it Go" has turned into a major sensation, and the Walt Disney Animation Studios have even released a 25-language version of the song. Idina Menzel, who sings the track in "Frozen," also performed "Let it Go" live at the show.
This is Anderson-Lopez and Lopez' first Academy Award nomination.
