Morning meditation and late-night drinking are pretty much on opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to de-stressing, but entrepreneur and author Russell Simmons has turned to both as a way to find stillness. Simmons joined HuffPost Live’s Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani on Thursday to explain which form of stillness truly pays off in the long run.
A former drug user, Simmons told HuffPost Live that he chose the path of sobriety 26 years ago and never looked back. Simmons discovered the power of meditation, and now, he's sharing his lessons with others through his latest book, Success Through Stillness: Meditation Made Simple, which launched earlier this week. Mindful practice completely transformed Simmons' life -- in fact, he deems it the "real secret to success."
“Happiness comes through clarity or cloudiness," said Simmons. "And lasting, stable happiness is clarity.”
