Woman Admits Killing Accused Rapist After Cutting Off His Penis

A Chinese court has heard gruesome details in the trial of a woman accused of murdering her ex-lover in 2012.

On Monday, High Court in Hong Kong heard how Yeung Ki, 41, cut off her ex-boyfriend's penis with scissors before killing him with a hammer on Dec. 26, 2012. The woman said that the fatal incident transpired after the man raped her and beat her and her daughter, the South China Morning Post reports.

In a police interview played for the court, Yeung recounted how she drugged 32-year-old piano teacher Zhou Hui by feeding him soup laced with sleeping pills, according to Agence France-Presse.

Prosecutors said that Zhou awoke in pain from the drug-induced haze when Yeung "cut off his penis and flushed it down the toilet," UPI reports.

A fight followed, during which Yueng beat her former lover to death with a hammer, landing "almost uncountable" blows to his head and face, prosecutors said. She later wrapped the body in a sheet and hid it under a mattress.

Although 41-year-old Yeung admits that she killed Zhou, she denies that it was murder and claims she was provoked. In testimony, she said that Zhou tried to blackmail her with nude photos for the equivalent of $26,000 on the day of the slaying.

After she refused to pay, Zhou "beat her, pushed her to the floor, and slapped their daughter", then "forcibly had sex with her," Yeung said, according to the South China Morning Post.

The couple reportedly had a troubled past that involved infidelity and unpaid loans in the tens of thousands of dollars, the newspaper reports. It appears Yeung's daughter was by Zhou.

Yeung took her daughter to a government social services office the day after the fatal incident, where she wept and confessed the killing to a social worker.

"I cut it," Yeung told a social worker, according to the SCMP. "I think it was cruel. I did not mean it."
