Losses during spring training may not sting quite like losses during the regular season. The same cannot be said for the pain of being hit by a pitch.

Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis was pegged in the back by Kansas City Royals pitcher Jeremy Guthrie on Thursday. The 26-year-old infielder then showed off the bruise on Twitter.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly referred to pitcher Jeremy Guthrie as Jason Guthrie.
