James Larry Cosby Allegedly Didn't Like Slain Daughter Being Gay: Report

Dad Of Allegedly Murdered Lesbian Did Not Like His Daughter Being Gay: Report

The father of a Texas woman who was allegedly murdered last week "did not like the idea of her being gay," according to a new report.

James Larry Cosby, who has been arrested and charged with two counts of tampering with evidence in connection with the death of his daughter, Britney Cosby, and her girlfriend Crystal, was reportedly still angry over his daughter's sexuality, the alleged victim's mother tells local news station KHOU.

"He said it to me a few times that he did not like the idea of her being gay," Loranda McDonald, Britney Cosby's mother, said. She also told the Houston Chronicle, "He would throw it in her face."

Although James Larry Cosby was reportedly present at a candlelight vigil in his daughter's memory last week, authorities told the station that their suspicions grew after that appearance.

“When we went to the residence to talk to him, some of the things we saw there, [our suspicions] increased and went further," Galveston County Sheriff Henry Trochesset is quoted as saying. "We got a search warrant for the residence and our crime scene investigators were there last night, and after the event at the park, we drove him down to talk to us at the Sheriff’s Office.”

Still, others came to James' defense. "I never saw them having a misunderstanding or anything like that," Annie Cosby, James' grandmother, told the Chronicle.

Last week, a beer deliveryman discovered the bodies of Britney Cosby and Jackson next to a dumpster outside of the Fisherman's Cove store in Port Bolivar, Texas. Deputies say the woman were involved in a romantic relationship and had traveled to Galveston to celebrate Mardi Gras.

Jackson was a mother to a five-year-old girl, according to reports.
