Chelsea Clinton, Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation, told us all about the fabulous work she’s doing with the groundbreaking No Ceilings Initiative.
No Ceilings is a new program for the Clinton Foundation that focuses on empowering females worldwide. “Our mission is to understand where women and girls are in the world, where their rights and opportunities stand and where there has been real progress,” Chelsea explained.
“There are countries that are economically, politically or socially not where we should be,” she said, adding that she thinks girls are still excluded from many important arenas worldwide.
Focusing on the current state of affairs since 1995, the Foundation will partner with both traditional and nontraditional data gatherers to figure out how enfranchised women are around the world in terms of access to education, jobs and technology.
“When girls are enfranchised, it’s the right and smart thing to do,” Chelsea said. “From 1970-2009 in the United States, there was 2.5 trillion dollars brought in by women in workforce!”
