Sharon Stone On Learning To Accept Herself With A Magnifying Mirror And A Bottle Of Wine (VIDEO)

The Cathartic Moment That Helped Sharon Stone Accept Aging

Actress Sharon Stone is 56 years old, and she's not afraid to say it.

During a conversation about heath, beauty and aging on "Oprah Prime," Stone opened up about learning to accept the aging process, rather than fighting it.

"People can say you look 30 or you can lie and say you're 42. But in the end, you're the age you really are," Stone says.

She describes a cathartic moment that came when she turned 40. With a magnifying mirror and a bottle wine, she went into her bathroom and had a good cry. "I cried and I accepted myself," she says. "It wasn't just a sad cry. It was just that shedding and accepting that I wasn't the thing I was before."

Living in Los Angeles, Stone says she's not turning heads the way she used to -- but she's not envious of the women who are. "I think you have to have a certain sense of humor," she says. "And a sense of, why are they looking at that person? And who is it that's looking at that person?"

"Oprah Prime" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
