Tottori Sand Dunes Are Japan's Most Unexpected Wonder

This Is Not Where You Think It Is

Where in the world will you find rolling sand dunes, camel rides and endless, sandy views?

The answer: Japan.

Located in the southwest region of Honshū Island, the Tottori Sand Dunes are the largest in Japan. They were formed over a period of almost 100,000 years.

The dunes create a desert-esque environment (the camels are imported) that offers unique views and activities for the adventurous, like paragliding and sandboarding.
