Patton Oswalt will be dusting off his hosting jacket again, returning to helm the 18th annual Webby Awards on May 19th in New York City.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by The Webby Awards, who explained why the comedian is the best person for the job. "Patton wins the Internet almost every day," said David-Michel Davies, Executive Director. "His comedic creativity very much mirrors the ingenuity exhibited by the awards recipients and we feel fortunate to have him hosting again this year."

In addition to opening the night, Oswalt's job is to make sure winners stick to the show's now-famous 5-word acceptance speeches. One of the most talked about speeches from last year's event was GIF inventor Steve Wilhite's, "It's pronounced 'JIF' not 'GIF'." *

The show can be viewed on demand at WebbyAwards.com beginning the morning of Tuesday, May 20th.

*Editor's note: We don't care if he invented the thing, he's wrong. Unless we're confused about the pronunciation of "graphic" as well, it's "GIF."
