Diane Sawyer Lands Chris Christie's First TV Interview Since Bridge Scandal

Diane Sawyer has landed Chris Christie's first television interview since his bridge scandal broke earlier this year.

ABC News' Rick Klein tweeted the news Thursday. Sawyer's exchange with the embattled governor will air Thursday night on "ABC World News." The interview, which will take place at Christie's home in New Jersey, will also feature Christie's wife Mary Pat, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Christie has spent the last several months battling allegations that his administration shut down lanes on the George Washington Bridge as an act of political retribution, and that he knew about the closures. He has denied those allegations, saying in a radio interview, "Before these lanes were closed, I knew nothing about them. I didn't plan it. I didn't authorize it. I didn't approve it. I knew nothing about it."

The Washington Post said that his interview with Sawyer will address a new internal review, which was commissioned by Christie, that reportedly clears the governor of wrongdoing in the scandal.
