Michigan State Police are investigating after a mother and her 5-month-old baby were found dead at their home.
Linda Hubbard, 32, and daughter Ashlyn Hubbard were discovered by Linda's father Bob Hubbard in bed Saturday morning in East Leroy, Mich. According to MLive, foul play is not suspected; the cause of death is still a mystery.
Michigan State Police Detective First Lt. Chuck Christensen told the news site there was “absolutely not” any sign of forced entry to their home or a third party being involved. In addition, there were no signs of trauma or illegal drugs, according to the Battle Creek Enquirer.
Police are waiting for the results of toxicology reports, which could take several weeks, the paper reports.
"The most loving mother that you could ever imagine," Bob Hubbard said, describing daughter Linda to Fox 17. "She loved that baby, that baby was her world. And she was my angel from God."
The funeral service for Linda and Ashlyn Hubbard will be held Friday in Battle Creek.
