A Florida man is accused of throwing a punch at a woman in what police are calling McDonald's drive-thru road rage.
Howard Carl Wilson, 68, told police that he was angry because another vehicle cut him off and he almost collided with it. Video of the altercation shows the Winter Haven man approach the car, yell at the driver, and swing his fist toward the passenger's side door.
Witnesses of the March 29 incident said that Wilson shouted racial slurs and obscenities at Brittani Thomas, the passenger, WPTV reports.
As the encounter continued on for almost two minutes, Thomas is seen in the video attempting to close the door multiple times. Wilson held the door open prohibiting Thomas from closing it while he continued yelling. Just as the other vehicles in line ahead began to move forward, Wilson reached in the vehicle and punched Thomas in the face. Wilson then went back to his van, got in and drove off.
Authorities later located Wilson at his home. He admitted to being at the McDonald's, but claimed that he stood by the car in front of him for no more than 15 seconds, according to Bay News 9.
Wilson was charged with simple battery.
