You Can Now Visit An Exact Replica Of Denmark In Minecraft

Someone Recreated An Entire Country Using Minecraft Blocks

The people who play the block-building game Minecraft have created some impressive things over the course of the game's history. We've seen to-scale models of King's Landing (the capitol city in "Game of Thrones"), the Tower of Babel and even the detailed internal components of a computer built block by tiny pixelated block.

But we've never seen anything quite like this.

As you can see in the video above, the Danish Geodata Agency has completely mapped out the entire country of Denmark in a 1:1 scale and released it to the public. The video first popped up on gaming forum NeoGAF.

According to the gaming news site Kotaku, which translated the original story from Danish, the two men behind the project are Simon Kokkendorf and Thorbjørn Nielsen. Kotaku says the two men want to use the impressive model for educational purposes -- like teaching students about urban planning and that sort of stuff.

Regardless of its potential uses, I think we can all agree the model is quite a sight to behold, impressive for gamers and non-gaming folk alike.
