Everything was going so well for Mavs forward DeJuan Blair in Game 4 on Monday night until he kicked Spurs center Tiago Splitter in the head. He recorded a double-double (12 points and 11 rebounds) in just 16 minutes on the court while shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the field, helping Dallas rally back in the third quarter.
But after committing a foul on Splitter, Blair reacted by kicking him in the head and got ejected from the game.
“It was just an accident. I reacted to the call and his face happened to be down there. It was nothing intentional, especially the way I had been playing," Blair said after the Spurs' 93-89 win, via The Dallas Morning News. "I’m not that dumb to do something like that in the heat of the game when I know I changed it. It was totally an accident."
