My kitchen is the command center of our family's life--it gets very messy several times a day, and all of its utilitarian components are seriously put through the wringer on a daily basis. After a few months of use, our dishtowels usually look really ragged, and I've been amazed at how dinged up a cutting board can look after only a few weeks of rotation (I guess that's what happens when you're cooking three meals a day at home!).
This long, grueling winter has me suffering from serious spring fever, and since the weather is still really not complying, I'm resorting to retail therapy to cure what ails me. I've decided to give my kitchen a quick spring face-lift, updating all the workhorses I use day in and day out with fresh, pretty pieces that will bring me joy at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
