Jada Pinkett Smith has some pointed words regarding twisted media reports about a photo of her 13-year-old daughter, Willow.
Earlier this week, various outlets published stories about an Instagram photo of Smith and former Disney Channel star Moises Arias, showing the teen lying on a bed with the shirtless 20-year-old actor. Us Weekly dubbed the photo "controversial," while CBS News commented that fans were "outraged."
TMZ caught up with Pinkett Smith Wednesday, May 7, at Los Angeles International Airport and she dispelled the nonsense written about her daughter.
"Here's the deal: There was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation," she said. "You guys are projecting your trash onto it and you're acting like covert pedophiles, and that's not cool."
Arias is best known for his role opposite Miley Cyrus on Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana." He is a good friend of Willow Smith's brother, Jaden, as well as Kylie and Kendall Jenner, the Los Angeles Times notes.
Last year, Will Smith opened up about how he and his wife choose to parent their children.
"We don't do punishment," he told the UK's Metro. "The way that we deal with our kids is, they are responsible for their lives. Our concept is, as young as possible, give them as much control over their lives as possible and the concept of punishment, our experience has been -- it has a little too much of a negative quality ... you can do anything you want as long as you can explain to me why that was the right thing to do for your life."
