Small Change To D.C. Height Act Signed Into Law

President Obama has signed a bill that makes a slight change to a century-old law banning skyscrapers in the District.

Although the measure won't raise the overall height limit of buildings in D.C., the bill allows human occupancy of penthouses. Up until now, structures that high were only permitted to contain mechanical equipment.
