Watch What Happens When A Bunch Of College Students Have A Giggle Fest (VIDEO)

Try To Watch This And Not Start Smiling A Little

A bunch of students gathered recently on the University of Delaware's campus and just laughed. But there was a good reason for doing so.

Keep Calm and Giggle On, a youth-centered stress reduction, visited UDel for a "Giggle On the Green" event on May 12, and a video was sent our way this week. The event was put on with help from Alpha Phi Omega - Zeta Sigma chapter, Healthy Hens and Active Minds UD. Students present were asked to simply giggle with their friends.

Researchers at California's Loma Linda University found laughter lowered levels of cortisol, the "stress hormone," and improved participants' short-term memory, while a study out of Vanderbilt University in Nashville found laughter can burn calories.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among college students, and college counseling centers report seeing an increase in students seeking help for psychological problems. Giggle On's mission in their visit to UDel was to help the students relax a little, especially ahead of the pressure of final exams, and raise awareness of mental health problems.

So watch the video above and try to not crack a smile.
