This Woman Survived Cancer And Her Husband Walking Out, All At The Same Time

It's an unimaginable situation to consider, let alone experience: You're diagnosed with cancer and shortly thereafter, your spouse asks for a divorce.

Unimaginable, perhaps, but more common than you realize, especially for wives who are diagnosed with cancer. A recent study found that women were twice as vulnerable to divorce in the face of a serious illness than men.

Fiona Finn has experienced that firsthand. On Tuesday, the author and cancer survivor sat down with HuffPost Live's Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani and discussed how she coped after her husband left her and their kids during her second round of chemotherapy.

"[You] have to take it hour by hour, day by day," she said. "[You] focus on the good things and the people that love you and not the things you don't have and the things that are disappearing because actually they're being taken away from you to bring in something better. I feel like I'm in a better place today because of what happened to me."
