NYT Review: Adam Sandler's 'Blended' Will 'Make Your Children Stupid'

To say that A.O. Scott was merely unimpressed by Adam Sandler's new comedy "Blended" would be an understatement.

In a scathing review of the rom-com that's been generating a lot of online buzz, the veteran New York Times film critic slammed the "sheer audience-insulting incompetence of the filmmaking and the writing" of the movie.

"'Blended' is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). It will make your children stupid," Scott concluded.

Scott isn't the only film critic who's panned Sandler's new film, which also stars Drew Barrymore. In a review featured in the Telegraph, Anna Smith called the film a "contrived comedy" while Variety.com's Andrew Barker accused the movie of "undercut[ting] its own charms at every opportunity."

"Blended" currently has a 13 percent critics' rating on RottenTomatoes.com.
