The Los Angeles-based group Allah-Las brings an old-school sound to what has reliably been known as garage rock. They joined the HuffPost Live stage to share some of their music, reveal parts of their upcoming album, and discuss what brought them together.
The quartet's drummer Matthew Correia explained how they found the missing piece of the band's puzzle at Amoeba Music in Los Angeles -- one of the last remaining and biggest record stores in the country.
"Spencer, Miles and I have known each other since high school and they've known each other even longer than that," Correia said. "And then we met Pedrum working at Amoeba in Hollywood around college I guess, and then we started playing music together."
The band is scheduled to release their next album in September and despite incorporating different themes into their songs, guitarist Miles Michaud said they've stayed true to their sound.
"I think some of the subject matter changed," Michaud said. "You write songs about your experiences and when you have new experiences, somehow that filters in there so I think that there might be a little bit different subject matter but it's really same style of music, same band, same Allah-Las."
