Ryan Kelly Chamberlain II Caught In San Francisco After Massive Manhunt (VIDEO)

Manhunt Subject Arrested

Ryan Kelly Chamberlain II, the man at the center of a massive manhunt after the FBI said it found explosive materials in his San Francisco apartment, has been arrested.

Chamberlain's car was spotted at a parking lot near Crissy Field, a park not far from the Golden Gate Bridge, on Monday afternoon.

Shortly afterward, Chamberlain himself was taken into custody in a scene that was caught on video (above).

"I was sitting in my car and I heard some commotion," Morgan Manos, who witnessed the arrest, told KGO. "I got out of my car, got my phone out and started recording. I didn't really know what I was recording at first, but it became quickly evident that it was more than just some traffic stop violation."

Manos said that in addition to San Francisco police, he saw FBI and Homeland Security agents.

The FBI launched the manhunt for the 42-year-old political and media consultant on Sunday, after agents said they found explosive materials in his San Francisco apartment. The agency described him as armed and dangerous.

Chamberlain took to Twitter before his arrest to dispute that characterization.

"So much was broken from this past year-and-a-half, and from moments way back before that," the letter attributed to Chamberlain stated. "I guess it was just insurmountable, and the time's up."

It's still not clear what alerted the FBI to Chamberlain, and KRON 4 reports that the affidavit and search warrant used to enter his apartment are under seal.
